We have had a good couple months Max is growing and growing and eating more and more fruits and vegetables.  He knows his name and is starting on more and more vegetables.

Where is that car

6 months and first fall
I had my 6 month appointment and I'm 28 inches and 21 pounds.  I love sweet potatoes and apple sauce.  Mom had a photo shoot in the leaf pile outside.  It was a great time.  Grandpa Reese has been taking great care of me and I'm crawling all over the house and starting to talk more and more.

I got my first haircut a few months ago.  Daddy and I had a blast with Sherryl and the girls at Art of Hair.  Daddy has been very lax on getting cute pictures posted.  I'm six months old eating pureed food and I have been baptized and had my first airplane ride in the last 4 months.  Dad will be posting pictures.  I have meet all my Aunties and Uncles.

Uncle Bubba came to visit

My uncle came to visit me!  We had a great time.  We got to watch my dad try to run a Warrior Dash race in 95 degree heat.  It's an obstacle course on a ski hill. It was a hot day but we had fun.  Uncle Bubba took good care of me.

Opa and Audrey came to see me

My Great Opa and Audry came to visit last week.  We got to hang out, smile and laugh.  I'm much more alert and can see pretty well.  I'm great full that my family is close by!

Max, you are one month old.
You are just starting to smile on your own instead of only when you're sleeping! You really like laying on your play mat and looking at your reflection in the mirror and "accidentally" hitting the toys hanging from it. You're not so sure about tummy time yet. You get a little fussy about it after a few minutes! But you can lift your head and look around. I think you'd just rather lay on your back instead of putting the effort into lifting your head. You are looking at your dad and me while we talk to you, studying how its done, so that soon you can talk back to us! We love how every day you're more alert and watchful, just taking in the world. It has been a crazy, wonderful one month so far! We love you so!

Max has continued to be very popular! Two weekends ago his Grandma and Grandpa Hopper, Aunt Tiffany, Uncle Garry, and cousins Julia and Owen came for a visit! He got lots of attention from his cousins who couldn't wait to hold him and help calm him if he was crying. Julia even helped Brett change his diapers!

Then we had a little set back. Max developed a fever and we wound up at Children's for 3 nights. All the tests came back negative and it is assumed he had a virus. He is doing fine now though! He got to come home and meet his Aunt Megan visiting from Texas!

It has been fun for Max to get to meet his family! So glad the weather is warming up so we can get out of the house more!

Busy Last Week

Kicken it with some tummy time.  Check out my Jane Fonda leg warmers!
This is mom trying to be artsy with the camera!  That is my Great Grandpa Hagen's hand on the bottom than dad's, than mine.  Very cute.
My second cousin Lindsay stopped by to say hello and see me before her big hockey game!

So I have had a busy last week of April and even more eventful first week of May which I will talk about in another post when the pictures are ready.  Many of my parents friends and some new family stopped by to hold me and say hello.  I even got to meet my cousins for the first time and my Hopper grandparents.

Four Generations

Here is 4 generations of the Hagen blood line in one room!  Thank you Grandma Smyers for the help in my first two weeks.  You helped my parents make sure they could keep me alive for the near future.  I had a great week at home.  I have been able to teach my parents about what my cries mean and a big day today, my umbilical stump fell off today!  Looking forward to a weekend of more friends and family.

New Friends

My friend Aiden stopped by this week to say hello and introduce himself to me.  We had a great meet and greet.  It has been a busy week with family and friends stopping by and more to come this weekend!

My toys

I have been able to test out a few of the toys that I have received.  The swing is nice and cozy for a nice respit and the play mat is a good time waster.  I've been to the doctor, Babies R Us, Target and got my baby pictures taken this week.  It has been a busy few days.  I have finally taught mom and dad that I hate having a wet diaper (that took a week) I get very unhappy when ever I have a wet diaper.  All and all it has been a great first week at home.  Oh yeah and I have been sleeping in 4 hour blocks at night to let my parents get some rest.  Thank you for all the help from my grandparents and aunts and uncles for stopping by and saying hello!

My new room

This was my fathers version of how my room should look!
This was my mother's version (final)  I say they both look good.
This is where I sleep.  It was decorated for my arrival.  For all you hypochondriacs out there I'm one of the only things in my crib when I sleep!

Kellen and I

My friend Kellen (our friend Erin and Dan's son) came to visit me at the hospital and say welcome to the world.  He was imparting his seven weeks of knowledge on me.  He was the first friend my age that I have meet.  He seems nice he did not bite or say bad things about me!

Ponder

We had a lot of time to kill in a hospital room for 5 days so more than a few short videos were shot.  Most are narrated as close to the standerds set by Discovery and PBS on any of their documentaries!  Sorry, we must go, I believe that is Ken Burns calling.

Just a few more!

So how stinking cute am I mom and dad?
A very proud papa holding his four day old son!!
Look I can hold this thing already!

A few more pictures for us to quack at.  We have had a few minor setbacks in the process of getting out of the hospital but all is well and we were able to make it home today, Easter Sunday!  The staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital were top notch and helped us through the first few days.  On the positive side Anne and Brett were able to catch up on Season 1 of Dowton Abby.  Very good show on the BBC being replayed in America by PBS.  Also, any one planning (or not planning) on having a baby, should take full advantage of a nursery of trained and willing professionals to take care of your child at least one night while in hospital.  We were able to relax and recharge after a long 4 days.  We will try to post as much as we can so keep coming back for updates.  You may just be featured in a post!

He passed his hearing test and mom got to handle his first blow out diaper! Dad just so happened to be on his lunch break at the time!!! Had a relaxing day of the baby staples: eat, sleep, poop, pee, cry repeat! He has been opening his eyes more today and looking around taking it all in. Anne was up moving around and got her first shower in! For those of you in the know that is a big thing!

Introducing Max Elliott Hopper!

I was born on April 4, 2012 at 12:12 am at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis MN. I weighted in at 10 pounds 4 ounces and 22 inches long. I now share a birth month with my dad, uncle Garry and second cousin Laura Hagen. It looks like it must be a good month to come into the world. My mom was a trooper and is recovering nicely. I have been able to meet some grand parents and great grandparents today, along with other family and friends. Please stop by later for more photo updates and shenanigans.
